The advantages to a Pyrran custom video installation over the “WalMart Special” explained:
Most major retailers including WalMart, Radio Shack, and Costco now offer prepackaged systems of cameras and DVRs. These systems are attractively priced and appear to have decent features and specifications so why should you invest in a custom system instead? We believe the list below will provide a lot to answer this...
Pyrran takes care during a professional installation to mount all cameras attractively and run wiring in-wall where possible and appropriate.
Pyrran will recommend appropriate camera, lens, and housing combinations for each of the camera locations you need to install, not a one-size-fits-all camera.
Pyrran will recommend additional features such as lockboxes, battery backup, and infra-red illuminators.
Pyrran will program the network interface and your Internet router so you (and only you) can see the server from the Internet.
Pyrran will host your server’s name so you don’t have to remember your network address when traveling, especially if you have a dynamic IP number that can change without warning.
Wireless: Many prepackaged systems advertise wireless cameras to avoid running wires but do not warn you of the serious downsides of the technology such as needing power at the camera location (wires again) and losing video for four minutes when a neighbor or employee microwaves popcorn.
Wired: Many prepackaged systems with wired cameras do not include enough cables, still require a power source at the camera location, or use poorly shielded cables that cloud your video with interference.
Cameras: Most prepackaged systems include cameras with very low resolutions and poor low-light performance - Pyrran only recommends the highest available resolutions and lowest light ratings available for each application. A 380 line color or black-and-white camera will provide very little usable information beyond simple movement across the screen - no facial identity is possible unless the camera is located within a few feet in front of the subject. 600 line cameras will cost more but are well worth it to protect yourself, your family, your employees, and your inventory.
Monitors: Most prepackaged systems either include no monitor or include only a single monitor with no expansion. In many cases the included monitor is also the processor, cannot be repaired or replaced easily, and is difficult and bulky to place.
Pyrran will recommend proper camera placement and additional non-system products that meet your needs such as height-strips shown in the frame to help identify subjects.
Pyrran will integrate the alarm features of the video system with your premises alarm including tampers, signal loss, and motion detection as well as signals from the alarm system to initiate recording on the video system.
Pyrran will configure email and FTP notifications of video events directly to your personal, work, or mobile phone email addresses if the DVR is capable.
Pyrran will always be there to solve any issues in the future as you use your system or decide to expand it.
