Locksmithing

Safes

There is a wide variety of safe and fire-safe containers available in today’s market.  When considering a container, make sure you work with a locksmith who understands all the options and discusses your needs prior to making recommendations.

For example: Most “fire-rated” safes are not difficult to open - they are designed to protect contents against heat damage not thieves.  Also, if they are poorly mounted (or simply resting on a wood floor in a closet) they can easily tip or tumble during the duration of a fire - because these safes are only as good as their seal, which forms from the heat of a fire, the seal can break as the safe tips exposing your contents to heat.  Many mountain houses are built on a hill with no proper surfaces for a free standing fire safe.

Pyrran can recommend, install, and maintain a wide variety of industry leading safes, fire safes, data safes, and mechanical or electronic dials.  We are factory certified for several manufacturers of safes and safe locking systems.

Panic Rooms

Panic Rooms receive a lot of time in movies these days but they are essentially just a large safe.  A lot of consideration goes into a panic room and while the movies show elaborate configurations with spring loaded steel doors, 24 screens of video surveillance, and dedicated air conditioning a properly configured closet can work as well for average families.

In most cases all that is necessary is a room with a dedicated telephone line, a secondary communications path, mildly hardened walls and door(s), and perhaps a weapon.

Pyrran can design and install any level of Panic Room appropriate to your situation.
